Computer vs Family Time

I find it amazing that I have gone to school for how many years and have attended all sorts of training on what is the best way to raise and teach children and yet I have seemed to gone awry with my own children. As providers and teachers, we know that we should limit, if even have, technology in the classroom, family style dining should be used for meals, and being interactive with the children. But in my house, this is a rare thing. We have 4 computers. I know some of you are thinking “4 Computer, why?!” The funny thing is that I didn’t even own one until 10 years ago and now we have 4. My oldest daughter has one which her younger sisters are not allowed to touch without World War III happening. My husband has one that is kept in what my family has affectionately called his “Man Cave”. We have one main home computer that is so slow no one bothers with it, so it just consumes space in my family room. And then there is my computer. A laptop that is super old, 5 years which is old in computer life, which I fight with my children over who gets first use. It gets so bad with our computer use in my house I have to declare a special occasion for my family to sit and eat as a family. Does anyone else have this problem?
