Ruth Washburn Cooperative Nursery School is pleased to present :
Why do Children “Misbehave”?

A two-hour presentation by
Aletha Solter, Ph.D.

Description of talk

Children's behavior can be baffling and frustrating, but there is always a reason why they act the way they do. Before assuming that they are simply "misbehaving," it'simportant to look beneath the surface to understand their behavior. In this talk, you will learn to identify the three underlying reasons for inappropriate behavior. When the reason is clear, it is then possible to change children's behavior without using either
punishments or rewards.

This talk is for parents of children from birth to adolescence. It is also of interest to teachers, health practitioners, social workers, and therapists. There will be a short experiential exercise and plenty of time for questions.
